About Me

My name is John Hong and I'm 13 yrs old. I'm fully South Korean and I'm an incoming freshmen in the September of 2011 at Garden Grove High School. I like to play computer games and although I don't have one yet I like to play Modern Warfare 2 on X-box. When I first came to my summer school class, I didn't know anything about web design because i originally chose rop robotics but it was full and i didn't like it at first but now it's very fun and I'm a little better and understand what to do. My favorite movies are Terminator 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Hobbies

One of my hobbies are solving a 3x3 Rubik's cube. I've done it so many times which helped me get to my best record 57 seconds from 3 minutes and 46 seconds. I know someone who has a 4x4 Rubik's cube which I tried and and took 15 to 20 minutes to solve using my notes from youtube . It is complicated because it has four middle pieces not one. Now that I didn't do it for a long time, I think I forgot how to do it. Also my other hobby used to be going on Facebook when I have time, but I recently got my computer reprogrammed so it's really slow so I only go on once a week.  My last hobby is reading Korean comic books, because I need to read things in Korean so I don't forget them and I have been playing that comic in a game for almost half of my life! I like some nonfiction books that are about creatures, but I hate other nonfiction books. I also like fiction books because it increases my imagination.Lastly I want to say, that to me, reading Korean comics is a fun way to prevent myself from forgetting my national language.

My Goals

My goal is to earn 10 credits in this class in case I fail one of my future classes, those 10 little credits can back me up. If I'm not in this class and fail a class and don't have enough credits, I don't think I can exit high school.Even if I can exit high school with low grades or credits, I am not going to be proud of myself. I want to exit High School with a good reputation and a good grade to be proud and go to a good college or get free tuition or scholarships to any college. If I can't get free tuition for a college, I at least want to get a job and have enough money to go to UCI, because a lot of Koreans like me go there. To me, the least thing I should get is a Bachelor's degree because I want to become a lawyer and in order for that, I need to study really hard, but I'm going for the Master's degree because I can get paid more and I want to support my parents when they're old.

Education

I was in Korea until I was in 3rd grade. Then, I came here on August 15th 2006 after I only finished half of my 3rd grade year. Then, 1 month later I entered 4th grade at Sunnyside Elementary. I had many troubles because I didn't come prepared for the English language. So eventually I graduated at Sunnyside in 2009. Then for 7th and 8th grade, I went to Dr. Walton C's  Ralston Intermediate school. In September 2011 I'm going to be a freshmen at Garden Grove High School. My favorite subject is math, because in Korea, math is really advanced and I started memorizing my time table when I was 6 or 7. So when I came here and entered 4th grade, I mastered math but failed English.

Personality

I'm like those kind of people that are usually antisocial. That is because I don't like to go outside unless it is worth going or when I have to. Although it's easier just to talk, I like texting more than calling because I sound weird and when you text really fast, its like playing a game because u press a lot of buttons really fast.
